It seemed much closer than any I had ever seen and seemed very bright and very large. To me it seemed like it was very close due to the fact that I could see very clearly what seemed like a smoke or vapor trail left behind the event even being able to see the trail left after it had already dipped below visible horizon. It seemed to be falling quite slow but it seemed like it was low enough that it would have remained long enough to make contact with earth. Also noted that it looked quite large on the horizon, visibly larger in width than the neighbors 4 foot wide riser stack over the neighbors house.

at about 30 degrees it split into to sections and turned from blue to auqa green. Larger section continued at 180 degrees while smaller glowing fragment fell at about 165 degrees. When it split, it got slightly brighter and I could hear a faint sizzle sound as it fell. A smoke or vapor trail could be seen behind the entire event and seemed to linger against the bright light emitted.
