Poznámky | I am not sure I was able to position my viewing direction correctly on the map, but I can tell you I was definitely facing North and 12 degrees East according to my cell phone compass, which I checked right after it was out of my line of sight. There was really negligible difference from where I first witnessed it coming down (as it appeared very low in the sky, from right behind my backyard neighbour's 2 story house) and when it disappeared to the ground (where the houses on the street behind me are). You see I had a very narrow window to view this fireball as I saw it between 2 houses where I could see as it was finishing its course. The trajectory seemed to come very slightly from the north and moved very slightly eastward from where I was standing at my back door. It seemed relatively close - not just a smudge in the sky. There was a whole array of bright white sparkles which would flash once following a very bright fireball. I observed the fireball just as it seemed to reach the horizon although I could not quite see it's final place of landing. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I've never seen anything like this before and will never forget it. I'm just glad I was letting my dogs out for an early morning pee at this exact time. How fortuitous! |
