The fireball was traveling from south to north near the zenith, near Boötes. It lasted about 3-4 seconds. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact time but it was most likely between 10:00pm and 10:30pm. I would estimate that its path across the sky covered about 5 degrees. I was intrigued by this object because it seemed to be slower than other meteors I've observed.

Fireball varied in brightness while traveling from south to north

Pieces broke off of the main fireball and trailed behind it. Qualitatively the fireball seemed slower than usual for meteors, but faster than satellites.
