The tail was solid until the end,it started breaking up. Went behind some clouds in the east. We noticed it in the north western sky. Longest tail I've ever seen.

The flash was a horizontal line.very long. As it went to the east it broke up and went vertical and then behind some clouds due east,just about at the horizon.
